Tuesday 16 June: Churches and Poechenellekelder in Brussels
Plan was to make it to Park de Bruxelles but we ran out of time so instead visited a few churches and wander around before it was time to rush off to Waterloo so instead visited St Catherine Church. We also discover the chinetown of brussels, then visited St Nicholas Church
Quick lunch of baguette and cheese in middle of the Grande Place
At this point we both started to feel slightly queesy so went to Poechenellekelder for tea (definately unwell couldn't face any beers) ..whoaa what a fantastic place filled with puppets and memorabilia...some very creepy ones and got to learned about the Noiraud, which we just spotted one the day before in Grande Place (they a bit like an equivalent to Pearly kings). Love this type of place where they are things in every nook and cranny.
By then we really felt unwell so rush back to hotel ..the rest of the day was pretty bad ..had to get to waterloo (not easy when very sick) and put up the tent (had to take so many break not to be sick)...and finally get abck to hotel and pretty much both had horrible nights thanks to quite a nasty stomch bug/food poisoning
